Hey Y’all!
So, I’m a little slow and forgot that I could just use Voice to text to write my emails… So it didn’t have to be as hard as I was making it out to be update. Though on how I’m doing, it’s all going pretty well. I’m in a new area now with a new companion in my Google Photos. I put some pictures, I’m getting my braids back in which is fun, but overall the work is going really well.
This transfer was a little difficult at the start. I’m just not feeling like I really was meant to be in the area that I’m in or with the companion I’m with. It’s overall been good and a lot of stretching and growing, it’s helped me to realize even more tings that the Lord wants to fix within me, and so I’ve been giving up my pride bit-by-bit to see what he has in-store for me. The mission so far has been a really good experience and helped me grow a lot and I’m excited to come back home and let you all see the growt that I’ve made!
In this area, the words are amazing. They help us with so much of our missionary work being willing to come to our lessons when we invite them, even if it’s just over a phone call. They feeding us every night, we never go without food which is such a blessing and they are very welcoming to our friends and have helped in so many ways. It’s made me really think about what type of member I want to be when I get back. I know that will change over the years being home but I want to be a support to the missionaries because I’ve been one and I know the struggles they go through even though in 10 years missions will look different than they do right now.
With our friends, we are teaching quite a few wonderful people and one of our new members she has a son who’s turning 9 who is really excited to be baptized. He’s excited to be baptized with the 8-year-olds in his primary class to be with his friends and to watch them make their first promise with heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He’s been really good and asks really good questions during our lessons, and it just shows that the gospel truly is meant for us to understand with the innocence and eagerness of a child. The scriptures are constantly saying be as a little child, it’s fascinating to see that in actual reality, how a lot of times the adults that we teach try to overcomplicate it or listen to false things instead of going and Praying and asking for themselves. But when we’re teaching children 8 to say, like 13 or 14, they genuinely believe because they follow the spirit and their prayers are very sincere because they don’t have that bias as to what is true and what is false and so they rely completely on the spirit to help them know.
This truly is the church and gospel of Jesus Christ because there is no way that 18 to 20 and sometimes older year olds would be able to convert so many people. It’s powerful to feel the spirit in the lessons that we teach, as well as in the members’ homes. You never really notice the strength of the spirit until you’ve been in places where it’s not, so it’s a blessing to know that each of us have it and that the gospel, it’s meant for all of God’s children and so each of them can have it once they give up their pride and make that first promise with their Heavenly Father to submit to His will to start making their way back back back home.
Anyway, I’ll wrap up and leave you each with a conference talk, some photos and link to my Google Photos. But I love you all and hope you have a fantastic week. I’ll see you in..I guess a month now
Love,
Sister Megan Baron 🩷
