April 22nd Sister Megan Baron Email

April 22, 2024 //  by Rebecca Baron//  Leave a Comment

Surprise! I’m sending an email haha. I’ve decided I’ll probably only send one a month/per transfer because I haven’t been keeping up them or felt very motivated to write them. But here’s one for this past transfer! The 5 week match transfer.

Week 1

I got a new companion! Sister Bake! She’s very out going and spontaneous which was way different from my mom Sister Cochrane, but it was good getting to know her and being with someone new to see other ways to do missionary work. I learned some new skills from her on being more personable with everyone rather than just strictly business. It was also my first time having to stand on my own two feet with STL position which was quite difficult. Sister Bake and I were both the STLs but things weren’t getting done in a timely manner which was extremely stressful because I was trained to get things done ahead of time— things weren’t being done… but we did get a missionary from Mongolia! He was really cool. He didn’t know much English but was really fun and kind

Week 2

We were still getting to know each other, I was figuring out how to lead out the area and she was just getting accustom to the area and our preach my gospel information. She kept saying how it was a very different area from her last area and having 2 gigantic wards intimidated her a little since she just came from a relatively small ward. This week was just a lot of adjusting and getting used to things. We also had Finah take her baptismal interview! It went good and so we had our her on date… had..

Week 3

Things were great when we didn’t have anything big to plan! Sister Bake and I got along pretty well and just learning how to teach in unity, have first contacts in unity. It was pretty awesome! We found out that Finah didn’t know when her daughter was going to get back since she had left to take care of sick family in Africa, so we ended up taking her off date for now. It was a bit saddening but I know she’ll be ready again and will know when it is the right time for herself to be baptized. Also the Mongolian Elder was very fascinated with my hair haha. I had it in an afro and he said “I like your hair…can I touch?” It was funny!! And Our roommates were so funny! I love them so much they’re cuties 🩷 they really made every night fun when we’d come home

Week 4

Another stressful week because we had to plan things and yet again only got it done last minute. So I just kind of gave up on trying to get things done, since everytime I tried to get it on track it never happened. But some good things that happened: our Friend Kimm is working on quitting smoking!! We went over to check in on her and she was gone so we had a lesson with her and mid lesson we heard this alarm go off, and she said “oh thats my alarm to stop smoking”. WE HAVEN’T EVEN TAUGHT HER WORD OF WISDOM!! It was so so SOOOO amazing! I’m so happy for her, she’s going to Progress so much. And another good thing is my roommates. They were very needed haha, they always made me feel better and were so sweet in comforting me. Sister Bake also did her best and was amazing.

Week 5

It was our final week, so we found a couple new people to teach, visited members, I said goodbye to people and one of that hardest ones was saying goodbye to Kimm. She was the first person I found, someone who is progressing so quickly, she had and still had such a special place in my heart and I really hope the new sisters are taking good care of her… other than the sad good byes we had a big sleep over for 2 nights with our roommates, we were actually all really sad with transfer news because we were getting moved around. I ended up leaving Milton and Webb Bridge and a new sister took my spot, she is the sweetest sister so I’m not a worried about Kimm and Finah, they’ll be well taken care of!

That ends my time over in Milton and Webb Bridge, the Lord has decided its time for me to start new. Completely new because I’m also not an STL anymore which I’m very happy about! Now I’m in Lawrence will and in Tech with my new companion sister Smith.

I love you! I’ll send an email at the beginning of next transfer letting you know what happened! Have a wonderful month!
