Email #6 🙂

These past couple weeks have been so busy! We had so much going on and so many things happening. But it was all really fun!

How has your week been? Anything new or fun happen for you? What was a highlight of your week?

I haven’t found a good rhythm for emails yet, and actually have had a crazy busy time. It’s something I set a goal to work on though so they’ll start getting better soon.

Tuesday 23/1/24

5 week follow up! This is for the new missionaries and their trainers. It was pretty much like a check in to see how everyone’s doing, and reviewing/learning the topics that were discussed at MLC, as well as just catching up with the missionaries we came in with and seeing how they’re doing! That took up a big chunk of the day, along with driving, so then we just did some stop bys and finding.

Wednesday 24/1/24

It wasn’t a very eventful day, just a lot of stop bys and visiting inactive members to see if they still live at the same address or not. We also had a couple lessons, one was an 8yro and it went well! The boy we were teaching was a little bit shy at first but soon opened up (once he found out I also love Pokémon hahaha) and we had a great lesson that was memorable! Next time we go over I told him I’d get some Pokémon cards for him.

We also had a lesson with our Friend Kim that went super well! She already has such a strong testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and it was amazing getting to hear it from her as we taught her.

Then we went home and waited for transfer news…we waited for what seemed like eons for it to come…and when it finally came it was SHOCKING!!! Both my companions, Sister Tibbits and Sister Cochrane were going to leave!! and I was going to stay here and get a new companion and be the STLs (sister training leaders) for our zone. I’ve barely been here 2 months and I was going to have to lead out the area by myself… it was scary, BUT news changed and Sister Cochrane ended up staying with me and both of us are the STLs in our zone, so it’s been a little better than it could’ve been.

Thursday 25/1/24

We had a lesson with Fina early today and taught her about the Word of Wisdom, and she agrees with everything about it! She says “you should only put good things in your body, because you only have one” and then she, SHE started teaching us about the law of chastity, it was funny but that makes it easier for us because she already follows it so we can just briefly go over it with her next time.

After the lesson we came back to the apartment so we could pack up Sister Tibbitts and get her ready to leave because she was being transferred to a different area. We did have a predicament where our washer broke…it started leaking which wasn’t good, but it got fixed thankfully! After finishing cleaning and packing we finished out our day doing stop bys, one was to an inactive member and they’re very nice! We just were checking in to see how they’re doing. We’ve been over before and they don’t seem to mind us coming by, we noticed that they had a casket outside in a trailer though…but turns out they’re extremely into horror and made a casket grill and cooler duo 😂! After finishing stop by we came home and finished cleaning up the apartment.

Friday 26/1/24

It’s transfer day!…we got up and ready, packed the car and then we drove to the mission home, it was my first time driving on the mission, we have a Nissan Rouge and it’s pretty weird to drive in my opinion, I also hadn’t driven in a couple months so it’ll take some getting used to. Once we got to the mission home we gave Sister Tibbitts to her new companions. It was sad saying goodbye to her since we had just gotten so close, and now I realize that that’s how it’s going to be everytime there’s transfers 😔 it’s bitter sweet saying goodbye to someone you just got close with, but also being able to get close with someone new!

After transfers we just did weekly planning which took a long time, but we got it done! That was all we had afterwards.

Saturday 27/1/24

We had district council! We got another set of Elders in our zone and they’re in our district, Spanish speaking Elders so thats fun having some new people. Everyone else pretty much stayed the same. We went to district lunch at this place called Moe’s and it’s like Chipotle but I’d say even better. It’s south-western grill, I highly recommend it if anyone plans to go to Georgia!

Then we had a couple lessons with members and with our lovely Fina! We showed her the 3 Nephi 11 1-17 Book of Mormom video and she LOVED it, she said if Jesus came she would fall down and worship him, her faith is so strong. We love Fina! ❤️

Sunday 28/1/24

We had church! And it all went well, after both services we had some lessons that went pretty well and were good. One being an 8yro lesson, we taught about the plan of Salvation and gave her a coloring packet, she was SUPER excited about that haha.

Later we had Zone focus where everyone in our zone gets together with the stake president and we go over what our goals are and commitments are as the zone, hence the name, to focus in on what our Zone needs to do to fulfill the Lord’s command.

Monday 29/1/24

It was a pretty chill Pday, we took naps, did some cleaning, shopping, and I did some writing, then we went to the church and hung out with the other missionaries and called home.

3 Nephi 8:27

“And as many as have received me, to them have I given to become the sons of God; and even so will I to as many as shall believe on my name, for behold, by me redemption cometh, and in me is the law of Moses fulfilled”

You should join my Google photos! There’s lots of fun things in there, I try updating it daily, so you’ll be able to see what I’m up to.
