What are the Children Up To?

This Wed. was Kayla and Ruby’s first day of school. I actually got a picture of Ruby –

I recently realized that I have children in the top grades of three different schools – 6th, 9th and 12th grade. This year they are all the ones that supposedly know what they are doing. Next year it will be the opposite since they will all be in the lowest grade in their school.

Ruby started physical therapy this week. The first appointment was two hours but it should only be like an hour normally. She going to go three times a week until Sep. 1st when our insurance resets. He stretched it, put electrodes and heat on it, scraped it (which he just runs a tool kind of kind a plastic spoon over it to help break up the scar tissue), gently ran a towel over it since he says it is normal for it to be over-sensitive and that helps it get used to something that shouldn’t hurt but does, then she did a few exercises like balancing. She said she was pretty sore the next day but didn’t complain too much. She’s pretty tough and used to pain at this point.

Megan and Tyler start classes tomorrow (they have technically had school for over a week now but haven’t really had to do anything). Megan has three concurrent enrollment classes and one high school class. Tyler is probably going to have eight high school classes. I’m still trying to figure out his schedule since all the ideas I’ve had to get him out of some classes he doesn’t want to take aren’t working.

All three girls went to the temple with our ward this week and did baptisms and Grandpa got to go and help too. Kayla says it was nice to have Grandpa there.

I went to the dentist this week to get a crown put back on that was over an implant. The dentist thought I would be able to handle him lasering my gums down that had grown up to the top of the abutment (a metal post the crown goes over).

It did it for a little while and it didn’t hurt too bad so I thought I would be fine but after an hour of pain on that tooth and fixing a different chipped tooth, I definitely decided I should have gotten a shot. It really hurt!
